Totalitarians are always looking for new labels to call themselves, in order to fool people into putting them in power. Marxist, socialist, Fascist, Nazi, communist, and even liberal have been used over the course of the last century. Hillary Clinton has signaled that “Modern Progressive” (Hillary Clinton: I’m Not a Liberal) is the new mask they have chosen. And, liberal historians have treated the Progressive Era with great kindness. Blinded by their own revisionist history, the leftists may be ignorant of the dark side of the various “progressive” movements of the 20th Century. Perhaps, they hope that the seamy side of the Progressive Era has been forgotten.
